The AMG GT Black Series is the current pinnacle of sports car performance offered by Mercedes imbued with years of privateer and F1 motorsport experience, making for truly extreme driving dynamics. The fearsome M178 LS2 twin-turbo V-8 engine perhaps best exemplifies this impressive pedigree. Developed exclusively for use in the GT Black Series, it produces a remarkable 730 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque.

In 2022, Mercedes-AMG debuted the Project One, a $2.72-million hypercar that incorporates Formula 1 hybrid powertrain technology. As the production started to see delays, Mercedes offered a special edition of the new AMG GT Black Series exclusively to AMG Project One depositors, dubbed the “P One Edition.” With just 275 units produced worldwide and only 25 for the US market this made this variant the rarest of the AMG GT lineup. Each features a distinctive livery inspired by the Mercedes-AMG F1 W11 EQ Performance race car. The livery features Mercedes three-pointed stars, said to be hand painted, as well as teal accents inside and out, in a nod to Petronas, Mercedes’ longtime F1 partner.
