  Porsche’s 911 Turbo has always been pretty much in a class of its own. Sure, the German go-fast machine competes with the likes of Ferrari and Lamborghini in terms of performance, while not being afraid to take on Aston Martin in the GT segment. But the truth is that while some of those machines are better than the 911 Turbo at certain things, the blend of performance and practicality displayed by this German sports car make it irreplaceable.

  Powering the Turbo is a 3.8-liter flat-six at the rear of the 911 Turbo delivers 520 hp and 487 lb-ft of torque. Using the PDK’s oil-bath clutches, the transmission engages adjacent gear levels, introducing controlled slip. When driving at constant speed, this feature is used to lower the revs in situations that would see the next higher gear bringing the engine speed below the allowed lower speed limit.  As a result, the 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) sprint sits at 3.0 seconds for the Turbo and a top speed of 195 mph (314 km/h), respectively.
