Ford Motor Company has always been very open and proud of its heritage, perhaps more so than any other car manufacturer. Over the years they have produced some incredible cars designed specifically to pay homage to some of the amazing achievements of the past. One of the best examples would have to be the Ford GT, built to resemble and pay tribute to the incredible Ford GT40’s of the late 1960’s that dominated every race series Ford chose to enter them in. Built for only two model years, 2005 and 2006, only 4,038 examples were produced. Receiving impressive reviews from critics, Ford was applauded for doing the name justice with a car that could not only compete with, but in many cases defeat competitors such as Ferrari, just like the original GT40 was made famous for.

This 2006 Ford GT was purchased from Bondy’s Ford Lincoln in Alabama and resided with its original owner in Texas until 2015. It is 1 of 292 produced that are finished in Mark II Black, with black leather wrapped interior trim and Sparco leather sport bucket seats with carbon fiber structures. With less than 800 miles on the 5.4 L DOHC MPFI hand built All-Aluminum V8 and dry sump lubrication system, this car is essentially brand new. Assisting the V8 is an Eaton 2.3 L screw-type Supercharger with intercooler that pushes the horsepower to 550. Putting that power to the rear wheels is the 6 speed Ricardo manual transmission with a 2 disc self-adjusting hydraulic clutch and stopping power is provided by the Brembo 4 Piston Disc brakes with black painted calipers. The Ford GT’s aerodynamics package includes a front spoiler and splitter, mini underbody diffusers, a rear diffuser, and a lip spoiler to ensure the maximum amount of downforce is being provided, gluing the car the road. Under the car is complete with a full body cladding and a dual stainless steel exhaust. Non-performance amenities include power windows and doors, solar tinted glass, air conditioning with recirculation, push button start and an AM/FM stereo with CD player.
