2006 Chevrolet Corvette Z06

LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 2006 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 

  When GM first released the Z06, they wanted the world to know that it could take on the best of Europe with the new 505-hp pushrod 7.0-liter V-8 engine.  To make that point, GM held the first press drive of this American sports car in Europe.  At the time, it was the fastest Corvette the company had ever produced, which is a considerable accomplishment given the Corvette racing pedigree and dozens of previous high-performance models.

  While the horsepower is an impressive figure, many do not realize the weight savings General Motor engineers put the Z06 through.  The aluminum frame weighs a third less than the regular Vette's heavier steel unit.  To retain chassis rigidity, the Z06 opts for a fixed cast-magnesium structure and another magnesium piece for the engine cradle.  Weight was also shed by using carbon-fiber floorboards, front fenders and liners.  The result is a mosaic of materials.  When all was said and done with the Z06, it weighed in at 3147 pounds, which is 141 pounds less than the base Vette.  To put that in perspective the Ferrari F430 weighs 3380 pounds, and Porsche's Carrera GT weighs 3146 pounds. 

  This Z06 Corvette was ordered new at Gary Enck’s Car Store in Cooperstown, New York in special Lemans Blue paint  with Titanium Grey interior. Then it was taken to Katech performance to be upgraded with their Street Attack Z06 package. The package includes a host of engine upgrades including Forged 11:1 pistons, Torquer LS7 camshaft, high-lift valve springs, ATI damper, Katech valve covers, Kooks headers, Corsa exhaust, Ron Davis radiator, Halltech intake and custom painted intake manifold. With the added horsepower, the transmission was beefed up and built by RPM transmissions with their stage IV package and a high-performance clutch. To help with stopping duties AP600 brake fluid and Stoptech braided lines were added to reduce brake fade. To finish the package, a set of HRE 890R wheels were installed with some extra sticky Nitto Invo tires. 

  Since new, this one-owner Z06 has only traveled a mere 2,422 miles, has never seen the track and looks showroom new!  It comes fully documented with original window sticker, dealer invoice, Katech invoices, owner’s manuals and much more.
