2005 Saleen S7 Twin Turbo

LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 2005 Saleen S7 Twin Turbo 

  In August 2000 during the Monterey Historic Races, Saleen unveiled an entirely original production vehicle that would usher in a new era of supercar design and performance and dominate racetracks worldwide, the Saleen S7. The S7 boasted a completely unique space frame aluminum bespoke chassis with carbon fiber bodywork originally developed for competition. Very much like its Ford predeccsor the original GT40, the street verison of the S7 was very much a street legal racecar with its primary design purpose to win races. Also like the GT40 there were a only a small number of road cars built with production of the Saleen S7 750hp Twin Turbo totaling 23 examples worldwide. On the track, the S7R quickly earned the respect of some of motorsport’s most seasoned professionals, achieving class wins at both the 12 Hours of Sebring and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. 

  “The S7 was immediately competitive in motorsports from day one, winning over 100 professional races at the world’s top racetracks including Daytona, Nürburgring, Silverstone, Imola, Spa-Francorchamps and the 24 Hours of Le Mans" said Saleen Automotive CEO and Founder, Steve Saleen. 

  In 2005, Saleen launched the limited production Twin Turbo 750hp model of which approximately only 23 were built. Utilising the same all-aluminium engine block as the standard car, the Twin Turbo gained two Garrett turbochargers, producing 5.5 psi of boost and increasing the power output to an eye-watering 750 horsepower at 6,300 rpm, with maximum torque rated at 700 pound-feet at 4,800 rpm. The engine was kept cool thanks to the carbon fibre front intake, directing air into twin front-mounted aluminium radiators. The S7 Twin Turbo featured Saleen’s PowerFlash computer-controlled engine management system, with integrated coil-on-plug ignition. The front and rear diffusers, along with the rear spoiler, were revised to increase the downforce by 60 percent. Mated to the engine is a six-speed manual transmission that carries power to the rear wheels via a limited-slip differential. The 0-60 mph time was estimated to be 2.7 seconds with a top speed of 248 mph. 

  This performance of the Saleen S7 Twin Turbo was unmatched at that time even from the likes of such legendary cars as the Ferrari Enzo, Maserati MC12 and Porsche Carrera GT. The Saleen S7 was a far more credible racing machine having taken home more wins on the race track than all of the forementioned supercars. They also built 399 Ferrari Enzo's, 50 Maserati MC12's and 1,270 Porsche Carrera GT's compared to less than 20 Saleen S7 Twin Turbos. Today these cars are worth 2-4x the price of the Saleen S7 Twin Turbo making this an extremely undervalued alternative to some of todays most desierable supercars. 

  This Twin Turbo example offered here for sale is one of only four finished in beautiful Metallic Black paint and one of only three with a matching black leather/alcantara interior. Having been collector owned since new, it remains in showroom condition with only 479.5 original miles on the odometer. Attesting to its low mileage, its optional polished alloy wheels still wear the original Michelin Pilot Sport tires that it left the Saleen factory with when new. This particular S7 is certainly one of the lowest mileage examples and would be the centerpiece of any supercar collection. 

  Today, the Saleen S7 is regarded as a modern classic, with an increasing presence at events like the Pebble Beach Concours D’Elegance and in the world’s most prestigious museums, car collections and auction houses. With its rarity and racing pedigree, it can be compared to cars like the Porsche GT1, Mercedes Benz CLK GTR and Mclaren F1 all of which are far more valuable. The Saleen S7 is an ultra low production, Le Man’s winning and revolutionary automobile with stunning lines & proportions that will surely appreciate in years to come.
