SLP Engineering has a long history of working with General Motors F-Body platform. Beginning in 1991 they were modifying Pontiac Firebird Formula's to world class performance levels. They work through a close relationship with GM to provide optional features which can be applied following the cars initial build, ordered directly through the dealer. One of the most desirable models to emerge from this ordering system was the SLP Firehawk, based on the Firebird Formula or Trans Am, only 501 were produced in 2001, the very year they were celebrating the 10 year anniversary of the model, and also the announcement that production would end permanently the following year.

This car began as a nicely optioned 2001 Pontiac Trans Am, ordered in bright Red paint with ebony black leather interior. Powered by the LS1 engine and 6 speed manual transmission it was already a potent package, but then it was sent to SLP engineering for a few more features. See on this car are the base Firehawk alterations, composite hood with functional cold air induction, hood mounted heat extractors, 17" aluminum wheels, 275/40ZR17 Firestone Firehawk tires, performance stainless exhaust with dual tips, upgraded suspension, Firehawk plaque and key fobs and Firehawk front fascia. In addition to this, the purchaser selected the optional chrome wheels, Bilstein Ultra Performance suspension, Auburn High Torque performance differential and premium front floor mats showcasing the Firehawk logo. It is clear that the original owner knew he had a special car as he took impeccable care of it and the car shows as new today due to this special attention. The paint shows flawlessly, the interior not even showing any wear. The odometer reads 7,019 original miles since new.
