  Ferrari has always had a reputation of building the ultimate grand-touring cars. As the first two passenger, front engine Ferrari since the much-revered Daytona, the 550 Maranello was an important car. Based on the 2+2 chassis of the outgoing 456, the 550 was positioned as Ferrari’s top of the line model, featuring a comfortable interior, nicely sized trunk, a front mounted 5.5L V12 engine and a rear mounted 6 speed manual transmission. The world’s press gathered at the Nürburgring to see the unveiling of the newest Ferrari grand tourer. Most did not believe that a front-engine V-12 could outperform a mid-engine sports car, but they were wrong. The 550 Maranello had the performance to match any mid-engine design with better comfort and luggage room.

  Presented here is an excellent example, with all the eyeball appeal, performance and comfort one desires from such a Ferrari. Finished in what some say is the only colour a Ferrari should be seen Rosso Corsa Red, paired with the flawless Tan leather interior. Slide behind the wheel and twist the ignition key brings forth the unmistakable sound of a DOHC 48v 5.5L Ferrari V12 engine making 485hp at 7,000rpm. Falling perfectly into your hand is the chrome shift knob of the 6 speed transmission in the perfect gated pattern. Of course, it comes outfitted with all the features one would require from a grand touring coupe such as full climate control, traction/stability systems, power features, and a premium audio system.
