The Acura NSX was first sold into the North American market beginning in 1990 with the intended goal meeting the performance of the then V8 Ferrari range while offering reliability at a much lower price. The NSX became the world's first mass-produced car to feature an all-aluminum body; they are also powered by an all-aluminum V6 engine, which feature Honda's VTEC (Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control) system developed in the 1980s. The design had many influences – the body was influenced by advanced aerodymics, styling was fashioned to feel like an F-16 fighter jet cockpit and input from the late F1 World Champion Ayrton Senna, during the final stages of development. The once concept car called NS-X, which stood for "New" "Sportscar" "eXperimental", evolved and the production model was launched as the NSX.

Manufactured by Acura in Tochigi, Japan and shipped to the USA, this beautiful Acura NSX-T was first put on the road in Naples, Florida in November of 1997. It remained there until February of 2000 when it was next registered in the state of Tennessee until being recently acquired by LMC. This car is in exceptionally nice condition having spent its entire life in the southern states being well cared for and has travelled a total of only 19,108 miles since new. The 1997 NSX was the first year to receive a larger and more powerful engine, bumped up from the previous and less powerful 3.0 liter to a 3.2liter V6 – 290HP engine producing 224lb.-ft. of torque, which is connected to a 6spd manual transmission. Acura made these cars one way - fully loaded with features, with the only option being an automatic transmission. This car is finished in its factory black paint with tan leather interior – both of which appear in showroom condition. The paint is in amazing condition – the black has a deep shine, has been well cared for and sealed in the past with no areas of fading or oxidization. The interior is spotless and in as-new condition; a luxurious feeling cabin that features a removable Targa roof, a Bose sound system, cruise control, beautiful leather seats, with the even the driver’s seat bolster, known to wear, in excellent condition. On the hoist, this car is exceptionally clean, directly benefitting from its southern roots and all aluminum construction with factory markings being easily visible. The alloy wheels are in excellent condition with very minor curb rash on the front left wheel only. The matching staggered front/rear Dunlop Direzza performance tires have plenty of life remaining with 80% tread remaining.

The market for the NSX has remained strong over the past decade since Acura exited the market in 2005. At an auction in late January of this year, Acura sold the first new 2017 NSX supercar to roll out of its factory for a whopping $1.2 million. Acura will begin taking customer orders for the new NSX at the end of February with a starting price of $156,000 USD. These factors only are driving the price upward and a car such as the one we are offering is worthy of strong consideration… but, don’t wait too long.
