1996 Dodge Viper GTS

Since its introduction in 1992, the Dodge Viper had instantly become one of the pinnacles of America Sports Car performance. Although some enjoyed the sparcely appointed cars, some still wanted some creature comforts and when the GTS concept was shown in 1993 the feedback was overwhelmingly popular giving then President of Chrysler the ammunition he needed to put the GTS into production. By 1996 they were again pacing the famous Indy 500 and another legend in the history of Viper was born.

For the first year of production, all Viper GTS' were finished in blue with white stripes, paying homage to the Shelby Daytona coupe where it is said inspiration for the body design was taken from.

This one owner since new 1996 Dodge Viper GTS was ordered from the factory through the Viper Preferential Order Program which was made available for people or purchased new, and still retained previous Viper RT/10 models. By late February a VIN had been assigned to the order and the car scheduled for assembly. Since the day it rolled out of final assembly and delivered new to the owner in California, the car has seen but a mere 716 miles of use. It comes with lots of original paperwork including the Preferential Order Program documents, copy of original window sticker, Car Check Sheet after delivery, New Vehicle Preparation form from the dealer and even dealer invoices for service and recalls performed. This collector owned example of the first generation Viper is a great find for someone who perhaps missed their opportunity to buy one new, or who would like a beautiful, unmolested original example for their collection.
