1995 Ford Mustang Cobra SVT

#160 of 250 Produced - Only 167 Original Miles

With the introduction of the new SN-95 body style Mustangs in 1994, it also brought with it a further opportunity for the newly established Special Vehicle Teams to make some special high performance cars. The 1995 Cobra R, was of course a limited production follow up to the initial 1993 Cobra R. The center piece of this special car was of course the 5.8L 300hp engine, the first time a 351 cubic inch engine made it into a Mustang since 1973. Backing that up was a heavy duty Tremec 5 speed transmission, 3.27 ratio traction lok rear axle, 4 wheel Cobra disc brakes, stiffened suspension, thicker sway bars and of course it was lightened with no back seat, no sound deadening materiel, no A/C, fiberglass engine hood, crank windows and even had its gas tank replaced with a 20 gallon fuel cell. In order to even purchase one of the only 250 produced you needed to possess a valid racing license as Ford tried to encourage these cars to represent the brand in racing venues, of which many successfully did. The others have become sought after collector pieces, special racing oriented cars made for one purpose but still street legal, sounds very similar to a limited production Mustang from the past, perhaps a GT350???

As with all of the 250 Cobra R's produced for 1995, this particular example is finished in its original Crystal White clearcoat paint with saddle cloth interior. #160 of the 250 produced is a special example showing only 167 original miles since new and even retains original temporary tags on the rear window. The saddle interior looks like it's never been sat in before, the paint looks as new, it retains all documentation including the window sticker, SVT certificate of authenticity, magazine articles and the entire folder of information that came with it when new. A true time capsule car dating back 18 years this is a fascinating example of a very special, limited production race car for the street.
