Every now and again an automotive manufacture will produce a limited quantity of a unique vehicle that serves to disrupt the status quo of the brand.  The GMC Typhoon accomplished just that, and as a result, generated significant interest in the automotive industry after they produced a sleek sport utility that gave sports cars a run for their money.

This 1992 GMC Typhoon is can be deceiving.  Upon first impression it appears to be a normal GMC Jimmy sport utility vehicle.  However under the hood is a 4.3 litre turbocharged V6 engine producing 280 horsepower and 350 lb ft of torque.  The turbocharger is intercooled and uses an electronic fuel injection system to give this Typhoon real performance.  Zero to sixty miles an hour takes just 6.5 seconds, benefiting from a limited slip rear differential.  Four wheel ABS and front disc brakes provide necessary stopping power.
