With so many special editions and "limited production" models being introduced, choosing which one will be sought after years down the road is nearly impossible due to all the variables. Some though, it is clear are special, and some people have the eye to see these characteristics when the cars are new and purchase the cars for the purpose of storing and enjoying without driving them. The Buick Grand Nationals went against the grain in many ways for an American "muscle car". Just as the 5.0L Mustangs and 5.7L Corvettes were getting their groove back they came out with a Turbocharged 3.8L V6. The unique traits were enough for at least one collector to tuck one away for safe keeping.

As a 1986 model, this car is now 27 years old and has only traveled 74 miles since it rolled off the assembly line! That's less that 3 miles per year! To say it has lead a gentle life is an understatement as the car has clearly been in controlled storage from day one. The paint shows just as new without blemishes. The interior shows as new, no signs of wear or even of any use whatsoever! But with all that in mind, the car still starts and runs just as it should, the gauges all function properly including the digital boost gauge, the tires show no signs of drying out and cracking and the original temporary permit still stuck to the back window! Of course a car purchased with the intent of holding on to, it comes with complete paperwork including but not limited to the original bill of sale, original finance agreement, warranty information, owners manuals, recall notices, title renewals, broadcast sheet and even original "Thank you" card from the selling dealer to the original purchaser. This car has been in the hands of a collection since July 30, 1986, the day it left Flemington Buick and now remains a very special car and a true "as-new" example of a unique and desirable collector car.
