1981 Porsche 911 SC
LMC is proud to offer for sale this 1981 Porsche 911 SC Coupe.
The Porsche 911 is a two-door high performance sports car made since 1963 by Porsche AG of Stuttgart, Germany. The 911 traces its roots to sketches drawn by Ferdinand "Butzi" Porsche in 1959 who is the son of Ferdinand "Ferry" Porsche. The Porsche 911 was developed as a more powerful, larger, more comfortable replacement for the Porsche 356, making its public debut at the 1963 Frankfurt Motor Show. The Porsche 911 has a 2 door coupé type body with four seats although the folding rear seats are small thus the car is usually called a 2+2 rather than a four-seater. It has a rear-mounted six cylinder boxer engine, rack and pinion steering and all round independent suspension. Having undergone continuous development with only a few modern design twists over the years this iconic Porsche sports car basically remained unchanged through the 1989 model year.
One of those model changes was introduced in 1978 when Porsche unveiled the new 911 SC which soon became another huge success for Porsche. This reintroduced the SC designation for the first time since the 356SC. It featured a 3.0-litre engine with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection backed by a 5-speed 915 transmission. This engine produced 180 bhp and reportedly would achieve a top speed of 140mph.
This 1981 Porsche 911SC, built in March of ’81, is brilliant in the Silver Metallic with the Black High-Back Bucket seat interior. The original interior is in excellent preserved condition. The classic design lines are known to any car lover not just long time Porsche supporters. From the sloping front end with the bulging headlights to that massive Whale Tail Engine Lid that provides that distinctive rear deck like no other sports car on the road or track. Power and handling is legendary with these Porsche 911’s. It's powered courtesy of the Flat 6, 3 Litre Engine featuring improved horsepower rating for the ’81 model year. This 204bhp Engine transmits power to the 5-Spoke Porsche Wheels via a 5-Speed Manual Transmission. The wheels are the factory original 16” Fuchs alloy rims. Now these little SC bombs with an impressive power to weight ratio were good for a 0-60 run of about 6.3 seconds. The 911 with the upright driving position and the excellent all-round visibility makes for a sports car ready to deliver its best around any driving circuit. Other features of this 911 include Air Conditioning, Sunroof, Blaupunkt Radio, Bosch Fog Lights, Power Mirrors, Power Windows, Tool Kit, Porsche Bra and Factory Alarm. The previous owner has provided the Owners Manual, Warranty/Maintenance Booklet, Blaupunkt Autoradio Booklet and Porsche Licence Frames. This Porsche has been well maintained over the years as noted by the service/mileage records that were kept and overall is in excellent condition.
For those enthusiasts that admire the unique Porsche 911 styling and enjoy the special Porsche handling then this sensational Silver ’81 Porsche 911 SC Coupe will fulfill all your Porsche dreams.
