1981 Pontiac Trans Am

4.9L Turbo - 8,770 Original Miles

1981 was the final year of production for the second generation Trans Am. Having been around for 11 model years, it had been through significant changes from the days of the big block 455's to the early days of modern technology and turbo charging. The 1981 model year would feature everything from 4 wheel disc brakes to the only turbocharged V8 in production, from radial tuned suspension to among the first computer monitored engine systems. Even after 11 years, the T/A was still a world class car.

This particular Trans Am was sold new at Bronsberg & Hughes Pontiac July 17, 1981. Since that day the car has seen only 8,770 miles of well maintained use. The factory applied black paint still shows beautifully along with the factory applied T84 Special Edition stripes. The car is optioned with all the factory features available including the previously mentioned Y84 special edition package, air conditioning, tinted glass, power windows, power antenna, B18 velour interior trim, WS6 performance package and of course the removable T-Top roof panels and top of the line 4.9L Turbocharged engine, the only Turbo V8 in production in the world during the 1981 model year. All said and told the original window sticker shows an MSRP of a staggering $13,000, a large sum of money in 1981. One look at the car and it's clear it has lead a gentle, well maintained life, the interior does not even show signs of wear, the gauges show clear and sharp, the original t-top panel bags still in the trunk. The car comes complete with the original 2 page window sticker, warranty information card, owners manual and much more. This is a great example of the final year for the 2^nd generation Trans Am, and one with all the available options and in original unmolested condition, the perfect T/A for the collection!
