1976 Pontiac Trans Am

455 with 4 Speed and Factory A/C1976 was to be the end of an era for Pontiac performance, it would be the last year the famous Pontiac 455 would be available in the Trans Am. They had put up a good fight against rising insurance costs, tighter restrictions on emissions and of course the radical rise in fuel costs. It was touted as being the best accelerating and best cornering American car you could buy with a respectable 330 lb/ft of torque through a mandatory 4 speed transmission.

This factory Goldenrod Yellow Trans Am left the Norwood assembly plant on the way to Otten Pontiac where it would be sold new. The car was just as it appears today, Yellow with Buckskin tan interior and optioned with a great list of features. Some of the options include electric rear window defroster, tilt steering wheel, honeycomb wheels, hood decal and factory Air Conditioning. The car is powered by the numbers matching 455 HO engine and 4 speed close ratio Muncie transmission and of course has power brakes and power steering.
