1976 Pontiac Trans Am - Original Survivor, Numbers Matching 400 CI, 4 Speed
LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1976 Pontiac Trans Am
The turning point for the late 1970's Trans Am's occurred in 1976. The corporate bean counters had all but given up on killing off the T/A, especially when they saw the enormous profit the model was bringing in. For 1976, the T/A got a more integrated front end appearance, enhancing the visual appeal. The new front end returned the parking lamps below the front bumper, each within a narrow cooling slot. Unfortunately, the front spoiler was trimmed back again, leaving it to merely be a keepsake from the glory days of old. The color keyed front bumper, covered in deformable urethane, replaced the rubber covered steel unit of the previous year. The bumper smoothly integrated into the front header panel which was still comprised of fiberglass. Round headlamps made their last second generation appearance on the 1976 edition.
This factory Starlight Black Trans Am left the Norwood assembly plant on the way to Long Motor Sales Co in Framingham, Massachusetts where it would be sold new. This original unrestored survivor was well kept and barely driven throughout its lifetime with the odometer showing just 26,697 miles. The car was just as it appears today, Black with Buckskin tan interior and optioned with a great list of features. The factory original paint is in great condition, as well as its unrestored factory original interior. Some of the options include GR70x15 Tires, honeycomb wheels, and hood decal. The car is powered by the numbers matching 400 ci engine and numbers matching 4 speed close ratio Muncie transmission and complete with power brakes and power steering.
Of course, as with any great Pontiac, the experts at PHS have fully documented this car as being just the way you see it. It has been wonderfully maintained and collector owned and today it represents a great car for any Pontiac enthusiast looking for a well optioned, fully documented Trans Am to drive and enjoy. To top it all off, how often does a black 4 speed Trans Am come along that has never been restored and remains in outstanding original condition.
