1976 Lincoln Continental Mark IV - Only 467 Original Miles, Multiple National Award Winner
LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1976 Lincoln Continental Mark IV
The 1970s luxury car market, the mantras 'bigger is better' and 'more is better' were alive and well. Cars from Cadillac, Lincoln and Chrysler were large, isolated, came equipped with massive torque rich motors and provided an extremely comfortable ride that was second only to a cruise ship. This generation of the Lincoln Continental is a full-size luxury machine with an instant presence and this one has the options that really impress. The Mark IV piled on the grandiosity of the period with its hidden headlights, large grille, stand-up hood ornament, miles-long hood, half vinyl top, Cartier clock and oval-shaped opera windows. In 1976, Lincoln gave the Mark IV an extra dose of appeal with special models that had color schemes and options selected by famous designers.
Finished in its original 9D White paint, this 1976 Lincoln Continental Mark IV offered here has the very attractive “Lipstick” luxury trim option which gave it a two-tone white/red interior and a factory sunroof. Powered by its numbers matching 460 CI engine backed by the Select-Shift 3-Speed Automatic transmission pushes this full-size Lincoln with little effort. With only 467 original miles on the odometer, the car is just like new. Not only does it still smell new, but under close inspection one can see all the factory markings present under the hood and as well on the undercarriage. The car has been placed in climate-controlled storage since new and has been preserved extremely well. In September of 1992, the Mark IV was used by Lincoln-Mercury along with a 1956 Mark II, a 1969 Mark III and a 1979 Mark V as part of a promotional display in Orlando, FL to highlight the launch of the all-new 1993 Lincoln Continental. A consistent winner at LCOC events in the 1990s and AACA events in the 2000s, the car promises to continue astounding both crowds and judges wherever it goes.
From the big bumpers, to the little guards over the parking lights. The total package is a time capsule that makes this large Lincoln a favorite at car shows. Formally part of the well respected and esteemed Jerry Capizzi collection. He was well known throughout the collector car community as having only the best Fords and Lincolns in his collection. Listed below are a list of its awards achieved throughout the years.
