1971 Ford Mustang BOSS 351

LMC is proud to offer for sale this 1971 Ford Mustang Boss 351.

  For the 1971 model year, Ford introduced a drastically redesigned Mustang. To this day the design is scrutinized, but sales were still strong compared to the competitors. For that year and that year only, one model stood out and would be looked at as being one of the best-balanced performance Mustangs ever built and the last of the series of impressive BOSS cars. Only 1,805 BOSS 351 Mustangs were built featuring a special version of the 351 Cleveland engine and 4 speed transmission. With 0-60 times being competitive with the previous generation 428CJ and the balanced handling of a BOSS 302, they were fantastic all-around cars.

  As detailed in the Marti Report, this particular Boss 351 was built on May 10, 1971 in Dearborn, Michigan, and sold only 10 days later at Sam Galloway Ford at in Fort Myers, Florida. This car has never been restored during its lifetime having been well cared for since new showing only 28,940 miles on the odometer. The car war ordered in 3560-A Bright Red paint with requisite black Boss stripes  which still remains the original factory applied paint. The Vermillion Ruffino/Corinthian Vinyl interior is also original and in very nice shape. The underneath still shows the factory red oxide primer, paint daubs and inspection markings. Most important of all, this Boss retains the numbers-matching 351 cubic inch engine and four speed wide ratio manual transmission actuated with a Hurst shifter. To put the power to pavement a V-code Traction-Lok rear differential and 3.91:1 gearing. Other options include F60x15 Wide Oval tires, the Sport Deck rear seat, Rear Spoiler, an AM radio with 8-track player, and a centre console. In a sea of restored cars, it is extremely rare to find an unrestored survivor in this condition!
