Numbers Matching RAIII 4 Speed with Factory A/C

The 1970 Pontiac Trans Am wore the same impact-absorbing snout as other Firebirds, but Pontiac said its unique front air dam and fender air extractors created 50 pounds of down force on the nose at expressway speeds. It claimed equal down force to the tail from a big deck lid lip and small spoilers in front of the rear wheels. Critics were impressed. Even with 57 percent of the weight on the front wheels, Sport Car Graphic said, "Overall handling feel -- for a production car -- was as near to a front engine race car as we have ever driven." And Car and Driver called the 1970 Pontiac Trans Am "a hard muscled, lightning-flexed commando of a car, the likes of which doesn't exist anywhere in the world, even for twice the price.

This Trans Am was built at the Los Angeles California plant and it comes with PHS documentation and copy of the original dealer invoice and window sticker showing that it was delivered to Frank Gillman Pontiac in Houston. For 1970 the Trans Am was only available in two colour combinations, Lucerne Blue with white stripe or like this car in Polar White with blue stripe which is further enhanced by the bright blue interior. It is powered by a numbers matching Ram Air III 400 CID engine with a 4 speed manual transmission and further optioned with power steering, power front disk brakes, Pontiac spoke rims, safe T track rear differential. But really setting this car apart is the factory optioned Air Conditioning, a must for the warm dry climate of Texas where this car spent most of its life. Recently traded in by a customer, this T/A has been well maintained and runs beautifully making it a great car to drive. Add to this documentation, numbers matching RAIII engine and you have a great example of one of the most desirable Trans Am model years.
