1970 Plymouth HEMI Cuda - ULTRA RARE With ORIGINAL 1,010 MILES, Fully Documented

LMC is proud to offer for sale this 1970 Hemi Cuda

The Plymouth Barracuda and sport model ‘Cuda variant had very humble beginnings. Starting out as a redesigned Valiant set to take on Ford’s incredibly popular Mustang. Although it didn’t take off in popularity like the Mustang, it developed a loyal following. In 1970, Plymouth decided to step up its game and while the design/name only lasted until 1974 the ‘Cuda has gone down in history as one of the most attractive and desirable muscle cars ever built. The 1970 model had the new E-body which was shorter and wider so removed all commonality with the Valiant. For engines the 1970 Barracuda/Barracuda Gran Coupe/’Cuda line up had six and eight cylinder versions ranging from a new 198 cu in six to the mighty 426 Hemi. In 1970, as it is today, the 426 Hemi is the king of the Mopar Big-Block power options that provided 425 angry horses according to the factory. However it is well known that this was a very conservative horsepower listing. The 426 2-4bbl power plant took on a very mean and nasty look when they can be seen peering through the famous Shaker Hood. As well the Hemi-equipped cars received upgraded suspension components and structural reinforcements to help transfer the power to the road. The other aspect of the Mopar Muscle cars of this era was the "high impact" colors that were on the order sheet. Mopar also sported some of the best go faster stripes like the Black Hockey Stick on the hind quarter of the ’70 ‘Cuda proudly displaying the engine block such as Hemi in the stick blade. Plymouth advertised these cars as part of their ‘Rapid Transit System’ and suggested “There are two kinds of Barracudas in this world. Those that do… and those that really do”.

This 1970 Plymouth Hemi ‘Cuda was built on May 25, 1970 at the Hamtramck, Michigan Plant. An extremely rare car being one of only 652 Hemi Cuda’s built. This car is powered by a, E74 Code, 426 Hemi 2x4 barrel numbers matching restoration engine, notably, one of only 368 that came equipped with a D32 Code, A727 Torque Flight Automatic Transmission. The A32 Code, Super Performance Axle Package is a Dana 60 Rear End specified with a 4.10 final drive. What sets this car collector owned Cuda apart from all others is its remarkably low original mileage having travelled only 1,010 miles since new. This car is known to LMC as we previously owned it in 2002 with the odometer showing 922 miles. Other features also noted in the Chrysler Registry - Govier documentation, are the Front Power Disc Brakes, Factory Stripe Delete, Radio Delete, Fog Lights and Dual Exhaust with Bright Chrome Tips. The ultra low mileage and careful ownership has translated into a rust-free and damage-free vehicle with its original sheet metal which is in excellent condition. The exterior is finished in its factory correct FC7 In-Violet Purple, or more commonly referred to as Plum Crazy, which looks spectacular, is in excellent condition and polished to look showroom new. The original black interior looks amazing, appearing to be in like new condition and has the very desirable High-Back Bucket Seats and optional full console. The door panels, carpet, dashpad and gauges look factory fresh and testify to its mileage and well cared for ownership. The familiar Mopar orange big block, sitting in a clean and well detailed engine bay, features the very unique looking air breather that peers through the Shaker Hood opening. A view of the undercarriage further reflects its mileage and undercarriage being literally spotless. All of the chrome on this car, stainless surfaces and trim are in excellent original condition, damage free, and have a bright, as-new shine. The original factory painted In-Violet Steel Wheels with simple Plymouth Division Dog-Dish Hub Caps are mounted with Goodyear Polyglas. For the next owner of this Hemi Cuda the valuable Broadcast Sheet, Govier Report, owner's manual and air temp brochure.

The 1970 Hemi ‘Cuda is among the rarest and most desirable E-Body Plymouth's produced and to this day they remain a highly collectible car amongst collectors and Mopar enthusiasts. This car is a great opportunity to obtain an extraordinarily low mileage, documented and original Hemi ‘Cuda in a desirable high impact color.
