  The brand-new Plymouth Duster arrived on the market in 1970, ready to compete with the other manufacturer's hot entry level muscle cars. This all new fastback body was aimed directly to the youth market as an entry-level muscle car, for those with a need for speed but with limited budgets.  For around $2,500.00, the buyer got a 340 cubic inch engine with 10.5:1 compression, a high-performance camshaft, a four-barrel carb, high-rated front torsion bars, heavy-duty shocks and front disc brakes. Also, being disguised as a two door Valiant sedan meant insurance rates were more affordable than other larger displacement muscle cars. This model year also saw the best High Impact Colors available on the option sheet. 

  This 1970 Plymouth Duster offered here for sale is an exceptional original survivor example that has never been restored from new with single ownership for over 51 years!  As per the fender tag and broadcast sheet, this Duster was factory ordered in high impact code EV2 Tor Red paint and trim with L6X9T Black vinyl bucket seats. Amanzigly, this example still retains its original paint and interior which, with consideration of its age, looks fantastic!The Black Vinyl interior has the patina and age of a good unrestored car. The bucket seats are in very good original condition as well as the steering wheel and dash. This Duster is powered by its numbers matching 340 ci engine backed by the numbers matching D21 4-Speed manual transmission and D53 3.23:1 gears. The undercarriage is extremely original and still shows the factory batch primer and original Tor Red paint on the floor pans. Inside the trunk, it still retains  the original spare tire and jack assembly.

  Survivor examples like this Duster are extremely hard to find, in a complete unaltered state. In a sea of restored examples, a great original example is harder to come by. This Duster also comes fully documented with an original broadcast sheet and ownership history from new.
