Rare 429 Cobra Jet with Shaker Hood

In 1968 Ford introduced the mid-sized Torino to replace the aging Fairlane, which stayed in production until 1976. It was offered in many configurations beginning with a two-door fastback or convertible, four-door sedan or station wagon, hardtop, and as finally Ranchero pickup. It could be ordered as a luxury cruiser , family wagon , or muscle car configuration.  The Torino was also a major contender on the NASCAR circuit and in 1969; Ford introduced the Torino Talladega version. This limited-edition vehicle was given a more aerodynamic body style which they then used to compete with the famous wing cars from Mopar.

This beautiful rotisserie restored Torino Cobra Sportroof was ordered on March 6,1970 , built on the 25^th then shipped to the original selling dealer before being sold on the 25^th of April. It is finished in the desirable colour of Calypso Coral with interior in Black Turin knit vinyl bucket seats, optional Tachometer and floor console. Factory built with a J code 429 Cobra Jet with Ram Air, "shaker" hood, with this impressive motor backed by a C6 Cruise-O-Matic transmission and 9" rear end. The option list includes power front disc brakes, power steering and rear window defogger, with the over all look now enhanced by chrome Magnum 500 rims, raised white letter tires and rear window louvers. Of course as with any good Ford Muscle car, it comes fully documented from Marti Auto Works showing its factory configuration and build details. This attention grabbing Torino Cobra is in absolutely stunning, rotisserie restored condition. Having been recently traded in out of a large collection and as such has been very well maintained. The car remains today a pleasure to drive and enjoy while still being a "show ready" muscle car.
