1970 Ford Mustang BOSS 302

LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302.

Ford’s performance machine, the Boss 302, was a direct competitor to Chevrolet’s Camaro Z/28, as it offered more performance on a reduced-weight chassis. It proved its worth on the track, winning the SCCA’s 1970 Trans-Am racing series, and it was quite popular in the showroom, as it offered customers a vehicle that was just as comfortable on the road as it was on the track. In a comparison test in their February 1970 issue, Car and Driver further praised the Boss’s street manners, stating that “it is quiet and exudes quality, very much like an expensive European GT car. The stiff suspension and high shock absorber control give it a very purposeful feel, and because the body doesn’t quiver or rattle when you hit a bump, the overall impression is most satisfying.”

This 1970 Boss 302 was produced at the Dearborn Assembly Plant on December, 30, 1969 seven days behind schedule. It was shipped to Jack Yaber Ford Inc. in Athens, Georgia, where it remained majority of its life. It came from the factory powered by the G code Boss 302 Trans Am engine with the mandatory RUG toploader 4-speed manual transmission. Many factory options are still present such as; rear deck spoiler, Traction-Lok Differential, Shaker Hood Scoop, Sport Slats, Power Steering, AM Radio, Tachometer, and front chin spoiler. This Boss underwent a restoration and has seen only few miles, as it has been part of a collection since.  The Medium Lime Metallic paint shines and shows very well and the White Rhino/Corinthian Vinyl interior and bucket seats are in very nice condition as well. This Mustang is very well documented with the original build sheet, the original shipping invoice, and a full Marti Report.
