1970 Dodge Challenger RT

LMC is very proud to offer for sale 1970 Dodge Challenger Pro Street 

 As drag racing took popularity around North America, hot rodders wanted to apply the styling of drag cars to their street muscle cars. These cars became known as Pro Street which is a style of street-legal custom car popular in the 1980s, usually built to imitate a Pro Stock class race car. Pro Street cars should appear to be more at home on the drag strip than the street, while remaining street legal and not gutted like a full race car. Typically called a Back half car with the rear wheel tubs drastically enlarged to accommodate enormously wide tires. A large supercharger poking through the hood was a signature item of Pro Streeters well into the ’90s.

 This 1970 Dodge Challenger features all the required elements of any good pro streetcar, wrapped in a beautiful orange package. Painted in a custom orange metallic paint color that has been wet sanded and polished to a show quality shine. On the inside a mostly stock black interior is accented with race buckets, carpet covered tin work, and an assortment of Auto Meter gauges. For go power, the Challenger features 490ci inch big block KB Aluminum Block topped with a Blower Shop 8-71 supercharger. The big-block utilizes Indy cylinder heads with two Demon 1050 cfm carburetors feeding air and fuel into that massive 8-71 Supercharger. If that’s not enough there’s NOS nitrous system capable of a 350 shot and pushing the big block to make more than 1200 horsepower. All that power funnels through a built 727 transmission, on its way back to a heavily fortified Baer 9” rear housing and Strange 3rd member with 4.10 gears. A set of Wilwood brakes helps this Challenger slow down. To get all that power to the ground, the Challenger relies on ladder bars, Weld Wheels and a big set of 33/21.50/15 Mickey Thompson Sportsman Pro tires.
