1970 Buick GSX Stage 1

LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1970 Buick GSX Stage 1.

At the height of the muscle car wars, Buick decided to step into the ring with both feet, what showed up would become known as one of the most powerful muscle cars produced that year. The introduction of the GSX model brought along a very distinctive striping, front and rear spoiler package that also included a special hood, performance suspension, instrument panels and even a hood mounted tach. Add to that the optional, new for 1970 455 Stage 1 motor, you got a very striking muscle car with 510 lb/ft of torque right off the dealer’s lot.

This 1970 Buick GSX was ordered with the Stage 1 performance option which changed the rear axle ratio to a Positraction 3.64, and added several high-performance modifications, resulting in a far under-rated at 360hp and a whopping 510ft-tq engine. Other ordered options included Turbo Hydra-Matic 400 transmission with full length console, quick ratio power steering, power disc brakes, Sonomatic radio, air-conditioning, soft-ray tinted glass, Saturn Yellow paint, and more. Documenting this very special car is the GS Historical Society documentation, a build sheet and a production order. With the numbers matching engine and only test miles since the complete nut and bolt frame off  rotisserie restoration, the car is in absolutely stunning condition. Any fan of the muscle car area can appreciate this well documented, very collectable, and beautifully restored Stage 1 performance Buick.
