LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1969 Shelby GT500 Convertible

Offered is an exceptional 1969 Shelby GT500 Convertible—one of the most desirable Shelby models ever built and presented in ultra rare and desirable factory Gulfstream Aqua with White Clarion-knit hi-back bucket seats and white convertible top. Even more significantly, this example is one of only 69 GT500 convertibles ever equipped with the factory four-speed manual transmission, making it one of the rarest drivetrain configurations of the entire 1969 Shelby lineup. Already scarce by production, this car is further elevated by a full rotisserie restoration with many NOS parts used throughout, and it achieved the prestigious SAAC Gold Award, placing it among the finest restored GT500 convertibles in existence.

Powered by its legendary 428 Cobra Jet Ram Air engine paired with the factory four-speed close-ratio manual transmission, this GT500 delivers the unmistakable big-block Shelby driving experience. The Marti Report confirms the car was built at Dearborn on January 17, 1969—two days behind schedule—and sold new through Wilmington Sales Inc. Only 48 examples were finished in this paint code, just 34 with this paint and trim combination, and only 243 equipped with the desirable white power top with a glass backlite, making this a particularly rare configuration even within Shelby’s already limited production. When you take all of this into account, it is one of only a few ever produced in this combination.

This GT500 was factory-ordered with a comprehensive list of features, including the GT Equipment Group, Traction-Lok differential, Visibility Group, Goodyear branded tires, power front disc brakes, power steering, tilt-away steering column, Deluxe Interior Décor Group, AM radio, tinted glass, deluxe belts with warning light, and color-keyed racing mirrors, along with the white power top with glass backlite. These options not only enhance drivability but also reflect the high-spec nature of this convertible when delivered new.

Benefiting from a meticulous rotisserie restoration, every component, finish, and mechanical system has been returned to factory-correct standards. The exceptional quality and accuracy of the work were recognized when the car earned the coveted SAAC Gold, the highest judging honor awarded by the Shelby American Automobile Club—reserved only for the most authentically restored and correctly detailed examples.

Extremely rare, beautifully finished, fully documented, and judged among the very best, this 1969 Shelby GT500 Convertible represents an outstanding collector opportunity and stands as one of the finest restored Shelbys available today. Comes complete with all documentation, even has pictures of the car, new, and is, of course, listed in the Shelby American World Registry.
