1969 Pontiac Trans Am

LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1969 Pontiac Trans Am 

  Most muscle car fans know the Pontiac Trans Am was named after the Trans-Am road racing series. The Trans Am made its public debut in the spring of 1969 as a high-performance version of the Firebird 400 and the only exterior colors available in its debut year were Cameo White with blue stripes, a salute to America’s traditional racing livery. For $3,556 ’69 Trans Am buyers got the look of a road racer and the power of the Ram Air III 400ci engine. Its midyear introduction and a strike at one of its assembly facilities limited Trans Am production to just 697 units that first year. 

  Originally sold at Kohler Pontiac Oldsmobile in Sayre, Pennsylvania, this exceptionally rare 1969 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am is one of only 520 built with a 4-speed manual transmission. Presented beautifully in the factory delivered Cameo White exterior with Blue stripes complemented by a Blue bucket interior complete with optional “stacked gauges.” This example has benefited from a complete rotisserie restoration and likely better than it would have left the factory. Prior to the restoration, the decision was made to use a new solid body as the platform and was stripped to a bare shell, block sanded and the paint has been wet sanded and polished to a show quality luster. It is complete with the almost underheard of original steel Trans Am hood and original Trans Am rear spoiler. Under the steel hood, is a numbers matching Ram Air III 400ci engine that has been detailed with the correct paint finishes and inspection marking. The undercarriage was refinished and repainted in the correct satin black paint and the components were either restored or replaced. 

  Important with any collector car of this rarity and desirability, it comes fully documented with Pontiac Historical Services paperwork proving how the car was built and left the factory. This factory ordered Trans Am Ram Air III, 4 speed is a spectacular example and an important single-year-production package Pontiac!
