1969 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 Convertible

Low production, Beautiful Acapulco Blue and outstanding condition.  

In the late 1960s, the performance oriented Shelby GT350s and 500s took the standard Ford Mustang to the next level.  The Shelby Mustangs exhibited the heritage of Shelby American racing and the creation was a performance oriented drivers car with options to expand the muscle machine into an exciting daily driver.  For Ford and Shelby enthusiasts, there is simply a feeling of satisfaction behind the wheel as the vehicle delivers a direct connection to the driver.

This example is presented in the marvellous Acapulco Blue with perfectly contrasted white stripes.  The condition of the paint should be noted as the Acapulco Blue colour reflects crystal clear with excellent application.  The like new power soft top is jet black and folds away to reveal the signature black roll bar.  The Shelby sits on mag style wheels with the Cobra logo occupying the centre caps.  Inside, the black interior is in like new condition and features AM/FM radio   Sitting behind the wheel, the unmistakable Cobra badge on the wooden steering wheel reminds the driver of the Shelby racing pedigree as the driver oriented gauges come to life with a simple turn of the key.

Under the hood, the 351 Windsor is mated to a four speed wide ratio and 3.25 rear axle.  While four air intakes serve to cool the engine bay, the centre intake provides a functional ram-air effect for the carburetor.  Exhaust work is finished with twin tyle square exhaust tips bellowing a fantastic deep engine note.  Every visible part in the engine bay is authentic . Clearly this Shelby is ready to be taken to a local or national show and displayed with great pride.  Power options include steering and brakes with the front being disc type.  Packages include the GT equipment, deluxe interior and Visibility group.    This GT 350 has been through a complete restoration with paint, body, mechanical and interior all receiving ample attention.

The collector value of Shelby Mustangs has always been strong, however this particular example is only 1 of 194 GT350 convertibles for 1969-70, 1 of 42 in Acapulco Blue and only 1 of 25 with this paint & trim combination.
