LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429

The 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 is an iconic American muscle car that exudes power and performance. Ford's desire to win at NASCAR and homologation rules allowed the automaker to utilize its new Boss 429 motor in a production car. They were built in limited numbers at Kar Kraft, which had to make several modifications in order to allow the massive 429 CI V-8 to fit between the shock towers. The potent Boss 429 CI V-8 engine was extremely underrated at the advertised 375 HP and 450 lb-ft of torque. With only a two-year production run of 857 in ’69 and even fewer for 1970, they are among the rarest, most sought-after Mustangs on the planet.

This incredible Boss 429 was built on May 2, 1969, and sold at Anderson Ford Inc. in Kingsport, Tennessee, for the amount of $4,933.26, as per the original invoice. It was ordered in the rare and desirable Royal Maroon paint. The original purchaser nicely equipped his new Boss with a 3.91-ratio Traction-Lok rear axle, a console, power front disc brakes, an AM radio, deluxe belts, power steering, competition suspension, a functional front air spoiler, color-keyed mirrors and a trunk-mounted battery.

Unlike most offered, this example has a matching-numbers Boss 429/375 HP engine and matching-numbers 4-speed manual transmission. This Boss has received a top-quality nut-and-bolt rotisserie restoration and looks incredible in its rare factory Royal Maroon paint. The interior features the black Clarion knit/Corinthian vinyl Hi-Back bucket seats, which remain in excellent condition. Even the restoration of the undercarriage reflects the high level of the quality restoration and the extreme detail taken to have this Boss present correctly.

Documentation is always great to have for any collector car, and this Boss 429 doesn’t disappoint as it comes with a window sticker, invoice, Ford owner card, build sheet, warranty booklet, owner’s manuals, a Marti report, supplement owner’s manual and more. A stunning example of one of Ford’s best muscle cars, this Boss 429 is perfect for the astute collector who appreciates documentation, matching-numbers drivetrains and incredible restoration quality.
