1969 Chevrolet Nova SS - Factory L78, Real Tuxedo Black, Beautifully Restored
LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1969 Chevrolet Nova SS.
Chevrolet produced the Chevy II/Nova through the years of 1962 to 1979, then again through 1985 to 1988. Over the years the Chevy II/Nova had many different appearances and models ranging from a 2 door coupe, to a 4 door station wagon. It also had many different engine options ranging from a 90HP 153 cu in L4, to a 375HP L78, which made the Nova a popular choice for families and drag racers alike. In 1968, Chevrolet introduced the Super Sport Performance Package that solidified the Nova’s muscle car presence.
This 1969 Chevrolet Nova SS was built in the Willow Run Assembly Plant and had a shipping date of June, 18, 1969. It left the factory with the optional L78 396/375HP 4bbl Turbo Jet V8 engine, M21 Close Ratio 4-speed manual transmission and finished in the ultra desirable code 10 Tuxedo Black exterior over a Black interior. It was sold new at British American Chev Olds Ltd. Today, the Nova still wears its as delivered Tuxedo Black paint that has been wet sanded and polished to a beautiful show finish. The black interior is also in beautiful restored condition matching the rest of the car. Additional options that this Nova was built with are; a positraction rear axle, AM pushbutton radio, front power disc brakes, and of course the Super Sport (Z/26) package. This was the first year that Chevrolet introduced disc brakes on the Nova. Redstripe tires complete the factory look for this 1969 Nova SS. Under the hood, the engine bay surrounding the numbers matching solid lifter 396/375hp power plant, is immaculately detailed and shows wonderfully. Having benefited from and extensive complete nut and bolt restoration, the quality doesn't end on the top of the car, but was continued to the underside as well.
This ’69 Nova SS is one of the most powerful, desirable, and sought after Novas you can find because of the 396 4bbl Turbo Jet V8, the 4-speed close ratio manual transmission. That mixed with the Factory Tuxedo black on black trim makes for a winning combination. Such a remarkable Nova in this restored condition, coupled with full documentation from General Motors and factory equipped with the L78 engine; indeed make it hard to find another like it.
