Powered by Ford’s brand-new Cobra Jet 428 and wrapped in distinctive Shelby styling, the KR quickly became one of the most desirable Mustangs ever produced. Today, authentic and well-documented KR fastbacks remain highly sought after for their rarity, performance, and unmistakable Shelby heritage.
This 1968 Shelby GT500KR Fastback is an exceptional and highly optioned example, finished in its factory-correct Wimbledon White over Black Knitted Decor interior. According to its Deluxe Marti Report, this car was built on June 28th, 1968, and shipped new to King Motor Company in Anniston, Alabama, where it began its life as one of the most powerful Mustangs on the showroom floor.
Under the hood sits the 428ci-4V Cobra Jet engine, paired with the four-speed manual transmission and a 3.50 Traction-Lok rear axle, delivering the torque-heavy performance that made the KR legendary.
