4.2L Inline 6 with 4 Speed Transmission

With the release of the E-Type Jaguar to replace the ageing XK series, the moment the public saw the beautifully sculpted body, the E-Type was an instant legend. Even Enzo Ferrari himself was quoted as saying it was "the most beautiful car ever made". Early cars were powered by a 3.8L which was later enlarged to 4.2L with three SU carbs. This combination was good for 265hp all running through a full syncro 4 speed transmission.

Presented here is a Jaguar XKE 4.2L, beautifully restored in Bright red with black interior. What is commonly referred to among E-Type aficionados as the Series 1.5, this car was built in during the final production run of the Series 1 E-Type. It is equipped with the desirable covered headlamps and triple SU carburetors on the numbers matching 4.2L inline 6 cylinder engine giving it 265hp. Connected to the big 6 cylinder was a full syncro 4 speed transmission. It has coil spring independent rear end with inboard mounted disc brakes finished off with optional chrome spoked wheels. The cars were an incredible feat of engineering underneath the gorgeous body design. Having been through a previous restoration, this E-Type is in excellent condition from top to bottom, but is also a well tuned and dialed in car that can be driven and enjoyed. The black interior shows beautifully while the exterior paint has been polished to a brilliant finish making it a great car for both touring and showing. The Jaguar E-Type has forever been praised for its stunning appearance and excellent driving experience, the 6 cylinder engines provide ample power making them an absolute joy to drive.
