LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1967 Shelby GT350
As one of the earliest “double digit” production cars built for the new model year, this example represents a fascinating moment in Shelby American history, when the company was transitioning from the simpler 1965-1966 GT350 formula into the more complex and aggressively styled 1967 models. Adding greatly to its significance, this example served as an original public relations and show car, giving it a unique place among early 1967 Shelby history.
Finished from the factory in iconic Wimbledon White with LeMans stripes, this GT350 is powered by its numbers-matching HiPo 289ci engine, topped with a desirable Paxton supercharger, and backed by its numbers-matching four-speed manual transmission. The combination of Shelby pedigree, high-revving small-block performance, manual gearbox, and supercharger makes this car exceptionally compelling.
What truly separatist double digit examples from later 1967 Shelbys is its early-production details. These first cars were built while Shelby was still refining the all-new 1967 design, resulting in a number of unique features that disappeared once regular production was standardized. Present on this car are many of those rare early characteristics, including the upper scoop light, unique one-piece front nose, one-piece grille, early flat gas cap, upper side scoop running lights, six-point roll bar, painted headlight trim rings, unique hood lanyard mounting, 1966-style “smooth” seat covers, seat belt warning light, short tab steering wheel, and other details associated with the earliest 1967 examples.
Under the hood, the hand-engraved Shelby VIN tag remains one of the most interesting early-production traits. Intended to be replaced by a machine-stamped tag as production progressed, these hand-engraved tags are now highly prized among collectors for their direct connection to Shelby American’s early build practices. Additional correct details include the red oxide underbody finish, factory-style markings, and visible stampings that speak to the quality and authenticity.
Having benefited from a previous complete rotisserie restoration, this GT350 presents as a highly detailed and historically important Shelby. Listed in the Shelby Registry and documented with a Marti Report, it offers the ideal combination of rarity, documentation, early-production character, and performance. With its PR/show car history, two-digit serial number, matching-numbers drivetrain, Paxton-supercharged HiPo 289, and numerous early 1967-only features, this GT350 stands as one of the most distinctive and desirable examples from a landmark year in Shelby Mustang history. Rarely do these cars ever become available for purchase. A unique opportunity to purchase a true piece of Shelby history.
