1967 Pontiac GTO
Frame off Restored & Fully Documented
1967 would be the final year for the first generation GTO. Minor styling changes were found including updated tail lights, different badging, but the stacked headlight design would remain for one final year. There were some more significant mechanical changes for 1967, gone was the "tri-power" three 2bbl carb option with a Quadrajet 4bbl now in its place and the 389 received a larger bore bringing the engine displacement up to 400 cubic inches. Right on the limit of GM's self imposed 400 cubic inch limit on mid-size cars.
This particular 1967 Pontiac GTO is a great example of how customized you could get a car back in the day. Cars could range from stripped down cars for racing to being very well optioned which were clearly purchased to be driven and enjoyed with style and performance, this GTO is an example of the latter. Beautifully frame off rotisserie restored in its factory correct livery of Cameo Ivory with Turquoise bucket seat interior. A look through the car and the accompanying PHS paperwork also shows that this has been a very special, well equipped GTO from day one. Options found on the car include power steering, power disc brakes, power seat, push button AM/FM radio, rear speaker, rare rear window defogger, door edge guards, optional lamps such as luggage area, underhood and even roof rail reading lamps. But it does not end there, other options include interior console, soft ray glass on all windows, handling package, safe-t-track rear axle, rally gauges with tach, TH-400 trans with "His and Hers" Hurst shifter and of course factory Air Conditioning. From top to bottom this GTO shows beautifully, the polished chrome, detailed 400 cubic inch motor and carefully detailed, elegant livery, it is a car which is ready to be driven and enjoyed.
