Fully Restored and Documented Shelby

In 1967 Ford unveiled the first redesign to their Mustang. In response to the release of Chevrolet Camaro, Ford ensured they could now fit a big block engine into their Pony car, Shelby quicker jumped at this opportunity and found a way to offer the 428 cubic in Police Interceptor engine in a car he would market as the GT500. This would also be the last year that Shelby would be producing his own cars at his Los Angeles assembly plant making the 1967 GT500 both the beginning and the end of something special!

This beautiful 1967 Shelby GT500 rolled out of Shelby's LAX assembly plant April 28^th of 1967 and was shipped out a week later to be sold new. Factory finished in desirable Candy Apple Red with black interior, just as it is presented today, this big block Shelby also featured the desirable factory inboard mounted headlights. The 428 PI engine has the appropriate Dual Quad carbs under the oval air breather and Top Loader 4 speed transmission. Just as was the case with all Shelbys, this car came very nicely equipped with power steering, power brakes, fold down rear seat along with the other Shelby upgrades such as wood rimmed steering wheel, additional gauges mounted below the dash and roll bar with shoulder harnesses. This particular car has been through a complete restoration and has been collector owned and maintained since. Due to this care the car presents itself very well from top to bottom, inside and out. It is of course fully documented including Shelby Registry and a Deluxe Marti report as well as having been a feature in a collector car magazine. Per the Shelby Registry, this car was carefully put into storage in 1974 where it remained before being discovered and fully restored. As a result of this great history the car has been very well preserved and cared for over the duration of its life. A beautifully restored, original Shelby GT500 4 speed is a very sought after collector car, combine all this with factory inboard lights and documentation, the result is a great car for the discerning collector or Shelby enthusiast.
