  When the 911 was released, Porsche had been thinking about its design for over a decade. Ever since the classic 356 was introduced in 1948, many thought of it as the ultimate sports car. Everything Porsche learned in a generation of racing and testing went into the new 911, which was revealed to the public in 1963. The 911 proved to be faster, nimbler, as attractive, and far roomier than its predecessor. A new generation of Porsche had been born.

 This 1966 Porsche 911 offered here for sale left the Porsche factory on December 17th, 1965 and was purchased at Pon’s Automobielhandle on February 4th,1966. As per the COA, it was ordered in ultra-rare color combination of code 6609 Black paint with a Black Leatherette interior. Additional options include ‘Webasto’ Heater, Antenna, Loudspeaker, Tinted Windshield, Left Exterior Mirror, Wheel Caps W/Crest and Dunlop Tires.

  The car remained with its original California owner until 2014 remaining in incredible survivor condition still wearing is code 6609 Black paint which presents extremely well for its age with incredible luster. The Black leatherette interior is in fantastic original condition for its age showing very minimal wear. The service booklet and documentation tells the story as it was serviced multiple times at many Porsche dealers in Los Angeles area. Additionally, it comes with tons of registration slips, owner’s manuals, period photos and Porsche COA.

  Today, fine examples of original examples of desirable early short-wheelbase 911s are extremely hard to come by. This Porsche is ideal for exhibition, club events, or rapid and enjoyable touring, and would make a great addition to any Porsche enthusiast’s collection.
