1966 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350

LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1966 Shelby GT350.

The 1966 Shelby's were visually very like the original 1965's, but, they were a little less purpose built as a sports car. They retained their back seats, had slightly softer suspension, full undercar exhaust systems and visually now had distinguishing rear quarter windows in place of the vents on found on the '65 Shelby and standard Mustang models. They did however retain the 306HP "K" code Hi-Po engine and 4 speed transmission as well as an optional "cruise-o-matic" automatic transmission.

This 1966 Shelby GT350 was ordered on May, 18, 1966 and shipped to Paradise Ford Sales, Inc. in Scottsdale, Arizona on May, 27, 1966. It was then purchased by its original owner, Robert Skimmer, on June, 14, 1966.  The car's second owner Thomas Roepeke would relocate the car to his home in Golden CO.   The GT350’s third caretaker, Charles Sperry, would purchase the car in 1979, and eventually later in his ownership have the cars first restoration performed. As with all 1966 GT350’s, it left Shelby's California production facility with the HiPo 289/306hp engine and this car was built from the factory with the optional manual 4 speed transmission. A few other desirable features include; a Detroit Locker Rear End, Koni Shock Absorbers, Lowered A arms, and a Center Force Dual Friction Clutch.

This 1966 Shelby GT350 is a documented original 4-speed car with many desirable performance additions. It is of course listed in the Shelby American Automobile Club Registry and can be seen on pages 316 and 562.  The condition of this GT350 proves how well it has been taken care of by each enthusiastic caretaker over the years and the it would make the perfect addition to any collection. Making this car even more special, it's glove box door has been signed by Carroll Shelby himself.
