1966 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350

Legendary Motorcar is proud to present this 1966 Shelby GT350

The 1966 Shelby's were visually very similar to the original 1965's, but, they were a little less purpose built as a sports car. They retained their back seats, had slightly softer suspension, full undercar exhaust systems and visually now had distinguishing rear ¼ windows in place of the vents on found on the '65 Shelby and standard Mustang models. They did however retain the 306HP "K" code Hi-Po engine and 4 speed transmission as well as an optional "cruise-o-matic" automatic transmission.

Originally ordered on June 3rd, 1966 and shipped to McCafferty Ford of Trenton, NJ, this Shelby GT350 is finished in the classic Wimbledon White paint with Guardsman Blue, LeMans stripes. Incredibly, the factory applied original paint is in amazing condition and amongst the best we have seen on any Shelby. The power plant is a numbers matching 289 hi-po V8 with Shelby American tuning the motor to an impressive 306 horsepower which is channelled to the wheels by its 4 speed transmission.  An inspection on the hoist shows the car has been extremely well and carefully looked after by the previous owners - the entire undercarriage is outstanding and you can still see the factory drips hanging from the floor pans! The black interior is factory correct with fold down rear seats, door panels, headliner, dashpad and gauges all appearing in remarkably nice condition. The factory correct Magnum 500 wheels are mounted with new and correct Goodyear Blue Streak tires. Shelby’s are rare and increasingly hard to find. This car is an example of the proverbial needle-in-a-haystack, an original Shelby GT350 still wearing its original paint.  Where would one ever find another, Wimbledon white original paint Shelby in this condition, complete with 4 speed manual transmission and fully documented.
