1966 Ford Mustang Fastback

LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1966 Ford Mustang Fastback 

  From the beginning when Ford first launched the Mustang they anticipated sales at the modest figure of 100,000 units. Unbeknownst to them they had started a revolution in what would be one of the most iconic vehicles in shape and name. Originally offered in two body styles and three choices of transmission, either a soft top convertible with the option of a power assist or the hardtop. Power was sent to the rear wheels via a three or four speed manual or a three-speed automatic. 

  This 1966 Ford Mustang Fastback was built at the San Jose, California assembly plant on April 18th ,1966 and remained on the west coast with the original owners family until 1992. It is finished in the very attractive Vintage Burgundy exterior with Black deluxe pony interior. Under the hood, is the “A” code 289ci V8 producing 225hp still with the very rare original California pollution control system. Behind the engine is the Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission sending power to a 3:00 rear axle. This fastback is highly optioned including air conditioning, tinted glass, exterior visibility group, power steering, front disc brakes, console, am/fm cassette radio, remote mirror, 2-speed wipers and dual exhaust. During the restoration, GT fog lamps and grill bars were added to improve the overall appearance. Finishing the appearance package is a set of classic Styled Steel wheels with red-line bias ply tires. 

  Under previous ownership, this beautiful Fastback was treated to a no-expense spared restoration. The entire body was stripped to bare metal revealing an impressively untouched west coast body which was then primed and block sanded to ensure a show quality paint finish. The engine compartment is exquisitely detailed, down to the proper markings, decals, clamps, hoses, and vintage-style spark plug wires, while the chassis is concours-restored, with fully detailed suspension components and red oxide floor pans. The end result was the culmination of many years of searching and acquiring proper components and hardware for this special fastback.  It was a trailered enclosed to shows and events all across the country by its enthusiastic owner and went on to win countless trophies and awards. This Mustang is likely better than new, and its fit, finish, and overall quality are outstanding.
