1966 Chevrolet Corvette

LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible.

  Corvette put America back on the sports car map and Corvette owners in a class by themselves. The Chevrolet Corvette, C2 for 2nd Generation and also known as the Corvette Sting Ray, is the American sports car legend produced for the 1963 to 1967 model years. The radical exterior styling of this Corvette generation was very purposeful, with peaked fenders, a long nose and a short bobbed tail that Chevrolet designers bragged about as ‘looks most stylists would be too timid to even suggest’. Quad headlamps were hidden - mounted in rotating sections that matched the sharp-edged front end with the "eyes" closed. For 1966 Chevrolet made only evolutionary changes such as the frontal appearance was mildly altered with an egg-crate grille insert to replace the previous horizontal bars, Coupe lost its roof-mounted extractor vents which had proved inefficient, back up lights were now standard, knock-off wheels were still available, headrests were now optional and the interior door pulls are bright metal. Corvettes also received an emblem in the corner of the hood for 1966. The "Big Block" Models debuted that year and came with a special bubble hood to accommodate the stronger horsepower engines and distinguished the cars from the 327’s.

  This 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible was produced in the St. Louis Assembly plant and shipped on November 8th, 1966 to British American Chev Olds Ltd.and sold to C. Jovanovich. It is painted in its factory highly desirable code 974 Rally Red, has a numbers matching Special High Performance L79 327-350HP Turbo Fire engine, and has a 4-Speed manual transmission. Accompanying the Corvette is the bullet proof General Motors Of Canada documentation. This highly collectible Corvette convertible was retained by its original owner until just a few years ago.
