1965 Ford Mustang Fastback

LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback 

  From the beginning when Ford first launched the Mustang they anticipated sales at the modest figure of 100,000 units. Unbeknownst to them they had started a revolution in what would be one of the most iconic vehicles in shape and name.  Thanks to the sports-car styling and a list of standard features that included bucket seats, floor shift and full carpeting, the 1965 Mustang was a huge sales success, with Ford dealers selling more than 680,000 during the extended 18-month model year. The fastback joined the lineup four months later, in August, with a sloping European-style roofline, functional interior exhaust vents in the C-pillars and handy fold-down rear seats that allowed stowing long items, like golf clubs or snow skis, through the trunk. Due to the later introduction and higher sticker price, barely 10 percent of 1965 Mustangs were the sportier fastbacks, which were officially called “2+2” by Ford. With great looks and less production, the first-generation fastbacks are among today’s more popular and collectible Mustangs. 

  This beautiful survivor 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback was purchased new by Mr. Hal Price of Hawkins County, Tennessee. He ordered his brand new Mustang in the ultra-rare and desirable Raven Black with a matching black interior. Under the hood, the car is optioned with the A Code 289ci/225hp 4v engine backed by a four-speed manual transmission. Since new, the car has never been restored and has been preserved throughout the years by its owners. With only 16,975 original miles on the odometer, it still sports its original paint and interior! The original paint still has unbelievable luster for its age and the original interior is in very nice condition only showing minor wear. A set of styled steel wheels and white line bias ply tires finish the look of this gorgeous Fastback. It is truly remarkable that this car has survived in this condition for over 55 years!

  With many restored examples on the market, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find cars in this state of preservation. With its desirable factory Black color combination and amazing original condition, this collector car is the perfect addition for the collector who appreciates originality!
