"A" Code 289/225hp 4 speed GT Fastback

From the beginning when Ford first launched the Mustang they anticipated sales at the modest figure of 100,000 units. Unbeknownst to them they had started a revolution in what would be one of the most iconic vehicles in shape and name. Originally offered in two body styles and three choices of transmission, either a soft top convertible with the option of a power assist or the hardtop. Power was sent to the rear wheels via a three or four speed manual or a three speed automatic.

This particular example is a factory "A" code 2+2 Fastback model which came equipped from the factory with a 289 four barrel V8 producing 225 horsepower.. Beautifully restored in black and adorning the interior with a white "Pony" interior complete with embossed seat backs, updated door handles and fold down rear seats. During the restoration period this Mustang was also been treated to a large list of additional extras and modern touches such as the aftermarket sound system. Other features fitted to the vehicle at the time of restoration include a fiberglass Shelby hood, Shelby style racing lap belts, Comp TA radials on styled steel wheels and trumpet exhaust. With performance in the corners a factor the suspension has also been lowered slightly to help keep flat and level through the bends as well as the addition of a pan hard bar. Being such a well looked after and uniquely equipped 1965 fastback makes this a rather special vehicle to behold.
