When the Ford Motor company brought us the Mustang in 1964 the public could not get enough of it. With demand increasing and lineups going out the showroom doors and around the block there has never been a car since that has caused such a commotion. With a dizzying array of options this was one of the first mainstream cars the buyer could customize to their own taste.  Initial releases brought convertible and hardtop models with the choice of three or four speed manual transmissions or a 3-speed automatic.
