1965 Ferrari 275 GTS
Original Condition and Exceptionally Rare
In October 1964 at the Paris Salon, Ferrari astonished the world with the unveiling of an entirely new lineup of road cars. The new Ferrari 275 GTS Spider and 275 GTB Berlinetta stole the show while swiftly replacing the 250 GT series. Not only is the 275 visually stunning, proper Ferrari pedigree has been carefully implemented into these two world class vehicles. Ferrari racing attributes brought first time features to these road vehicles such as fully independent suspension, a rear mounted five-speed transaxle and a set of four-wheel disc brakes. A formula one inspired 3.3-liter single overhead cam V-12 engine is the catalyst for the fantastic driving experience and intoxicating sound track. This Ferrari roadster is for the connoisseur of fine automobiles. Sleek, fast, luxurious - and incredibly rare, this 275 GTS is a welcome addition to any collection.
The story of this 1965 Ferrari 275 GTS starts in Maranello factory, when chassis 07089 was completed on May 7th 1965. This Ferrari GTS was finished in its beautiful color combination, Bleu 19391 Italver over a Beige VM 3309 interior. The car was sold new by Ferrari through Italcar S.p.A., an official Ferrari Dealer, to its first owner Tecnogomma D'Agostino of Torino, Italy at a price of 5,750,00 Italian Lire. During D'Agostino's ownership, the 275 was maintained at the Ferrari factory. Later he sold the car, and after passing through several Italian owners, the car was exported in 1971 to Texas. Albert Tomforde received the car and drove it for a few years until selling it in 1974 to the Rogak family. The Rogak family rarely used the car and, after Sam Rogak's passing, it saw extremely limited use and sat in storage. Today, the 275 remains very original with only 32,895 original kilometres (19,883 miles). The car retains the majority of its original Bleu paint and its original interior, original soft-top, engine, transmission, rear end, and exhaust. In the last year, the car has been mechanically sorted and runs and drives well. This 275 GTS is in a rare original state. With so many of the other cars being restored, very few run and drive the way they did when they left the factory almost 50 years ago. This 275 GTS must be one of the most original 275 GTS of its limited production of only 200 cars.
In conclusion, this 1965 Ferrari 275 GTS is more than a car - it is a work of art. There are so many virtues that can be appreciated on this GTS that it will continue to cherished by future generations of Ferrari enthusiasts.
