Numbers Matching L76 327/365hp
1965 brought a few changes to Americas Sports Car. From a cosmetic standpoint there were minor changes to the already beautiful C2 bodystyle in the form of three vertical side vents, but the major changes were on the mechanical side. New versions of the 327 in a wide range of power outputs, availability of a big block but most notable was the new for '65 four wheel disc brakes on all models (unless otherwise optioned). This significantly improved drivability and today really makes the 65-67 model mid-years stand out from their predecessors.
On August 8th, 1965, a very fortunate customer of Hicks Chevrolet drove home in their brand new 1965 Chevrolet Corvette roadster. Finished now just as it was that day in Goldwood Yellow with black interior, this beautiful Corvette has been a special car since day one being powered by the very desirable numbers matching L76 327 rated at 365hp and numbers matching 4 speed transmission. The car also features such desirable options as auxiliary hard top, knock off aluminum wheels and of course the requisite side mount exhaust so you can enjoy the sounds of a high horsepower small block. Having clearly been well maintained since new, this Corvette has benefited from some restoration, but close inspections will show what appears to be original paint in the door jams and much more. The car comes documented with the Protect-O-Plate showing the HH suffix for the L76 engine. The midyear Corvettes are among the most sought after of the era for many reasons and to find such a great example of a real car with the sought after, high horsepower solid lifter 327 is a special opportunity not to be missed.
