LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1964 Shelby Daytona CSX2630 Continuation Coupe
Few shapes in motorsport are as instantly recognizable—or as fiercely celebrated—as the Shelby Daytona Coupe. Conceived to dominate Europe’s GT circuits, the Daytona became the first American-built car to win the FIA GT World Championship, capturing the 1965 title and securing its place among the greatest competition cars of all time. With only six original examples ever constructed, genuine Daytonas are among the most valuable and unobtainable race cars in existence. This extraordinary Continuation car, CSX2630, was created to revive that legend with an unprecedented commitment to authenticity, craftsmanship, and period-correct engineering.
Built as part of the extremely limited Daytona coupe offered, its chassis CSX2630 carries a coveted CSX2000-series chassis number. These were built to replicate the very cars raced in the period complete with historically accurate aluminum bodies, leaf-spring suspensions, and racing interiors—yet strengthened and updated where appropriate for reliability and modern usability.
CSX2630 is built on a steel, powder-coated 3-inch tube-frame chassis, hand-fit and constructed to original specification. The body is a hand-formed aluminum shell, fully finished in classic Guardsman Blue metallic with White stripes and correct period racing livery.
To remain true to the original FIA configuration, the owner sourced a genuine 289-cubic-inch. The engine breathes through correct 48 IDA Weber carburetors, complete with proper center linkage, fuel log, and the iconic “turkey pan” air surround. The transmission is a race-prepared four speed close-ratio gearbox with an original Shelbystyle independent rear differential The result is a Daytona Continuation that stands at the apex of authenticity—more faithful in construction than nearly any other continuation ever produced.
What separates this car from typical Continuations is the obsessive commitment to period accuracy. They set out to create the finest Daytona continuation in existence with every detail curated to reflect the 1965 original. The Shelby Daytona Coupe represents the pinnacle of American GT racing achievement—winner at Sebring, class victor at Le Mans, and 1965 World Champion. Original examples are nearly unobtainable; when they do appear, they command prices in the tens of millions.
This CSX2630 Continuation offers the same visual drama, engineering authenticity, and visceral performance that made the originals legendary—beautifully constructed, historically accurate, and ready to be enjoyed on road or track. For the collector seeking the truest Continuation Daytona available today, this magnificent hand-built example stands in rare company.
