1964 ½ Ford Mustang Convertible - Rare Early "K" Code, Rotisserie Restored!

Ford’s most iconic car from the post-war period was undoubtedly the Mustang, and it was nothing short of a sensation when it was introduced. Thanks to its good looks, high level of comfort and performance, even in standard trim, and overall affordability, almost everyone in America wanted to have a Mustang parked in their driveway. To many, the most desirable Mustang available in 1965 was the convertible, as it was equipped with the 289-cubic inch V-8, nicknamed the “K-Code” due to the letter K in the fifth position on the car’s chassis number, which denoted the 289 Hi-Po’s presence.

This HiPo convertible was built in the San Jose, CA assembly plant on July 27th, 1964 making this a extremely rare early example that is powered by a “K” code 289ci/271hp engine backed by 4-speed top loader transmission and 9" rear end. Finished in the attractive Vintage Burgundy complemented by a stunning white interior makes this Mustang really pop. Under previous ownership, this example was treated to a complete rotisserie restoration and has seen only a few miles since. The undercarriage has been well detailed to the same quality as the top.

A 1964 ½ Mustang Convertible will never go out of style, and with less than one percent of 1965 Mustangs equipped with the K-code option, this will surely be a desirable and popular automobile for years to come.
