1962 Chevrolet Corvette Fuelie

Rare 327/360 Fuelie, Last of the classic C1 styling .

1962 represented the final year for the C1 corvette, and the classic styling of the first generation would be limited to 14,531 Corvettes for the final model year.  Only a handful were fitted with the top of the line, 360 horsepower, fuel injected engine.  The public relations promise was "added excitement for those wishing the ultimate in performance." 1962 was also the last year for the exposed headlights design until the 2005 C6.

This Corvette example has been finished in the striking Honduras Maroon with a lovely black interior.  First impression is met with Corvette lettering across the hood with accompanying Corvette racing flags.  Two pairs of twin front headlights flow into sharp chrome wind splits down the hood.  The excellent styling continues around the side of the car, and the trunk area is finished very cleanly with a chrome wrap around bumper and classic Corvette tail lights.  This Corvette features the desirable removable hardtop roof and the Vette looks great with hardtop in either configuration.

Under the hood is where this Fuelie separates itself from the competition and other C1 Corvettes.  Mechanical fuel injection and 11.25:1 compression increases horsepower to a very impressive 360 out of the 327 engine.  Top this off with a four speed and this is the perfect car to take on for a spirited drive.  Inside, all of the factory finishes remain intact including the wonder bar radio, beautiful instrument panel and soft touch white roof liner.

Clearly this Corvette has been well cared for and has been treated to a complete factory style restoration.  18,957 miles are indicated on the dash, and this Corvette is represented in excellent condition in respect to exterior, interior and mechanical condition.  There is really nothing left to desire with this Corvette, excellent styling, impressive performance in a rare and collectable package, this Fuelie is ready to enjoy for years to come.
