1961 Maserati 3500 GT

Maserati as a racing company were beginning to enjoy some winning success, but the increasing cost of being involved in racing was making it challenging given their limited vehicle sales. The 3500GT was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 1957 with two prototypes designed by Touring and the other by Allemano. After some minor modifications the car went into production and enjoyed some retail success and in many Maserati aficionados opinion, actually saved the company from economic failure. By 1961 a few updates had taken place including 4 wheel disc brakes and a 5 speed transmission.

This 1961 Maserati 3500GT is an original left hand drive model, among the later produced cars with the triple carbs before the change over to fuel injection and an overall great example. Finished in dark blue with black leather interior, the car has been very well maintained throughout the years. The chrome wire wheels are the perfect accent to the large grilled filled by the Maserati trident and bright work seen throughout the car. Opening the large engine hood reveals an impressive sight, the 3.5L inline six cylinder engine with twin plugs per cylinder and triple Weber carburetors is a form of mechanical artistry found in European sports cars. The car is a treat to drive and provides and experience like no other. It represents an excellent opportunity to acquire a very unique and useable Italian grand touring car.
