  If racing was your goal in 1961, this was the Corvette for you. The new-look 1961 Corvette was highly anticipated by anyone who had seen either the Sting Ray racer piloted by Dr. Dick Thompson or the space-age XP-700 show car that shared the Sting Ray’s knife-edged rear styling. The new ducktail added slightly more storage space and the front end was cosmetically overhauled. For 1961 the copper-core radiators were replaced with aluminum versions. This increased capacity by 10 percent while reducing weight by almost half. The engine was now producing 315 horsepower from the 283-cubic-inch V-8 with Rochester fuel injection. This also was the final year that whitewall tires and for the ‘coves’ that were painted in contrasting colors.

  Finished in the stunning color combination of Tuxedo Black with Silver coves and a Red interior. This beautiful Corvette has benefitted from a beautiful restoration with Tuxedo Black paint polished to a mirror finish and complemented with excellent chrome and brightwork. The quality continues to the interior of this Corvette finished in Red complemented by plenty of nice brightwork especially around the correct Wonderbar radio, clock, and manual transmission. It is powered by a numbers matching 283/315hp Fuel Injection engine backed by a T10 four-speed manual transmission. This Corvette offers both the white convertible soft top and a matching Tuxedo Black hardtop. The car is finished with correct style Spinner Hubcap and 6.70x15 white wall tires.
